Pakistan doesn’t require further inspiration to oppose India.

Pakistan’s head coach Gary Kirsten stated that his team wouldn’t need any extra incentive to play against arch-rivals India in the T20 World Cup in New York on Sunday following an embarrassing loss to co-hosts USA.

Pakistan, the previous edition’s finalists, lost to the United States in the Super Over to start their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on a nasty note. They will play India on a field that is still difficult to bat on at the Nassau County Stadium.

“India (against) Pakistan is a major game; I no longer need to inspire the players. On the day of the game, Kirsten informed the reporters in New York, “They are focused and well-motivated for this game.”

The only thing you can do to deal with life is to go on and forget about the past few days. The Pakistan limited-overs coach continued, “Results are results (and they) take care of themselves.”

Pakistan will be participating in this competition for the first time, although India, which is in New York, has played matches, including a warm-up against Bangladesh.

Kirsten refused to recognize India’s benefit from it.

“Our goal was to exert maximum pressure on the opposition by utilizing our skill sets and going out there and doing our best,” he declared.

“I can’t predict what will happen, so I’m unsure.” If that will be a benefit, he continued.

The match on Sunday has a different vibe, according to Kirsten, who was India’s coach when the two teams faced off in the semi-finals in Mohali during the 2011 World Cup.

He remarked, “I think it’s slightly different because it’s not in Pakistan or India.”

The South African, who served as the Gujarat Titans’ IPL consultant, felt he could not provide any more details, though, having seen Indian players up close.

“These athletes have had enough of one another and their style of play. Finally, since that will be a huge play, we want to make sure that we have our game correct in terms of the conditions and what is needed on the conditions.

According to Kirsten, Pakistan must work together as a team to take on India.

“Not winning games is never fun for any player. The players from Pakistan are giving it their all. What matters most is that we function as a true team.

Yes, each person must give a strong performance. However, playing games like these requires true teamwork. This is a significant match.

“People forget what happened two days ago. We are unable to undo it. We go on because it’s gone,” he continued.

Prioritizing coverage of all bases, Kirsten acknowledged that pace bowling is Pakistan’s strongest suit going into a match on a ground where scoring runs has proven difficult.

It is undoubtedly one of our strengths. We like to see how well-rounded our staff is, so you must cover all the essentials. We want to ensure a strong batting lineup, decent seam alternatives, and spin possibilities.

“Since it’s not in Pakistan or India, I believe it to be a little different.”
