Shan Masood, the captain of Pakistan’s red-ball team, thinks that before his team can qualify for the World Test Championship final and become a formidable force on foreign assignments, they must establish a winning culture at home.
“We still don’t know how to best exploit home conditions and win,” Masood stated in a podcast by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“Unless you can win at home, you cannot hope to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship,” he stated.

Gillespie, a former Australian pace bowler who now coaches Pakistan’s red-ball team, had anticipated that his team’s home-court schedule of seven of the nine Test matches this season would help them figure out the formula.
“I think we still need to figure out exactly what surfaces we want to be playing on which gives us the edge,” stated Gillespie.
