‘One of the greatest’ is the present Indian team? Shane Watson

Thanks to their pace attack, India will primarily prevail in that series: Shane Watson.

On Tuesday, Shane Watson, a former all-round player, predicted that the Indian speed attack would thrash Australia in their backyard—as long as the visiting bowlers are suitably rotated over the anticipated demanding tour.

India’s two previous visits to Australia ended in series triumphs, adding spice to the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, consisting of five Test matches beginning in Perth on November 22.

“India will win that series mostly thanks to their pace attack. They have the firepower to do it, but they’ll also need to rotate them if they want to win five straight Test matches in Australia “At the International Masters League opening, Shane Watson addressed the media.

“It’s undeniable that, even though both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are incredibly talented bowlers in every situation, the support won’t be as reliable as it is in other regions.

“They’ll still be effective, but how effective they’ll be, that’ll be the test and that’ll be the challenge for the Aussie batters,” he stated.

Cheteshwar Pujara’s unwavering resistance with the bat significantly influenced India’s victories in 2018–19 and 2020–21. Still, Shane Watson does not believe his absence would affect the visiting team.

“Pujara is one of those guys that just never makes a mistake. “Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of the best batsmen for India that you have seen; he has scored runs quickly but hasn’t made any mistakes,” the man remarked.

“He has yet to give the opposition much opportunity to remove him. Such batters can still have the same impact if they travel to Australia and play aggressively, putting foul balls away and applying pressure on the Australian bowlers. He also said that they keep the game going.

“With the calibre of batters that India have got and the skill they’ve got, there’s no reason why they can’t combine that, putting pressure on the bowlers, score quickly but also not make mistakes,” he stated.

According to Shane Watson, Australia must perform at its “very best” to defeat India.

India is undoubtedly a team with firepower, and they will present a formidable challenge to Australia at home. When they last played in Australia, India performed incredibly well. They will retain their confidence from that previous tour,” he remarked.

“But just knowing the firepower that India do have with the bat and the ball and how they continue to come together, Australia are going to have to be at their very, very best to be able to win that series,” he stated.

“India excels in its circumstances.”

Eoin Morgan, the captain of England who won the World Cup in 2019, praised India’s aggressive style of Test cricket, citing the team’s historic victory at Kanpur, and stated that doing so will raise many concerns for Australia.

“If they travel to Australia and play that way, Nathan Lyon’s health and style of play will play a major role in how that series turns out. It raises a lot of questions about Australia if they play Nathan Lyon in that way with that mentality,” he said.

Morgan regards the Indian squad currently playing as “one of the greatest in their conditions”.

“They must rank among the best in their respective fields. Their craving for victory and their thirst for food are what make them so good. They never take things for granted, and that’s their approach,” he remarked.

“We are from nations where the home team has significant advantages. However, over the span of generations, our records are far from as good as those of the Indians,” he continued.

Smith ought to stay the opener.

Shane Watson supported veteran batsman Steve Smith, who has been out of the starting lineup for the past two Tests, to return to his best.

Steve Smith should remain where he is, having decided to go and open. Arriving at number four, Cameron Green performed an outstanding job at bat. The hundred he received in New Zealand for a highly unique reason. For the foreseeable future, he is the ideal No. 4 candidate.

“Steve Smith, his technique was a touch off, so he didn’t do as well in the previous couple of Test matches. It’s strange to watch him leave in a few different ways since I’ve never seen him do so.

Shane Watson encouraged Steve Smith to stay as the opener and believes Australia’s “hard-bodied” bowlers can handle the pressure of playing five tests.

“They have demonstrated extraordinary resiliency throughout their careers, particularly in the last four or five years. “Bowlers such as Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins exhibit remarkable resilience once they get going,” the speaker stated.

“Every fast bowler’s fantasy, they are extremely muscular and fit for a Test match. Without a doubt, they’ll be controlled over a run of five Test matches, but India will also face that difficulty,” he stated.

Shane Watson, a former Australian all-rounder, has praised the current Indian cricket team and called them one of the best. Having played for some top teams in the world, Shane Watson thinks that India’s current generation of players has a unique combination of ability, skill, and willpower.

India’s batting lineup, which includes players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Cheteshwar Pujara, has especially impressed the Australian veteran. He has praised their adaptability to various situations and consistency in scoring runs in all formats. Shane Watson has also emphasized how the Indian pace attack has improved recently and contributed significantly to the team’s victory.

Shane Watson support for the Indian squad powerfully confirms their accomplishments. It is evidence of the players’ and the support staff’s diligence and commitment. India is headed toward becoming one of the best teams in cricket history as they continue to rule the international scene.

In summary

The fact that Shane Watson considers the current Indian cricket team to be among the best is a significant testament to their accomplishments.
