Ravichandran Ashwin

I put much effort into my batting: Ravichandran Ashwin gives TNPL credit.

Go hard like Rishabh Pant on a pitch like this: Ravichandran Ashwin

On Thursday, homegrown star Ravichandran Ashwin said he deliberately tried to bat aggressively on the red dirt surface used for the first Test match against Bangladesh.

Ashwin’s smart strategy lifted India from a precarious situation with a magnificent century before his home crowd.

“It’s an aged Chennai surface that has some give and bounce. After the first day’s play, Ravichandran Ashwin told the host broadcasters, “The red soil pitch allows you to play a few shots if you are willing to just get in line and give it a bit of a tonk when there’s width.”

Naturally, I’ve constantly been drifting around outside off-stump with my bat. I worked on a couple of things and realized that if you’re going to chase the ball, you could do it hard, just like Rishabh does, on a surface like this with a bit of zing.

Rishabh Pant batted admirably before making a careless shot, scoring 39 off of 52 balls.

Ashwin put up a valiant rearguard effort on a day when India lost their top four at 96 runs, dominating the Bangladesh bowling attack with a stunning 102 not out off 112 balls. He also forged an unbroken partnership with Ravindra Jadeja (86*).

Ashwin credited his recent spell in the Tamil Nadu Premier League, where he improved his batting, for his outstanding performance. The fact that I returned from a T20 event (TNPL) helps. I put a lot of work into my batting,” he remarked.

“Performing for your hometown audience is always an unforgettable experience. I love playing cricket on this field. I have a lot of amazing memories from it,” Ashwin, who crushed his second hundred at this location, remarked.

AMERICA’S TOP BATTERS: JADEJA

Ashwin also thanked teammate Jadeja for helping him through a difficult stretch of the innings.

“Jadeja was a true assistance. I was perspiring and feeling a little sleepy at one point. Jaddu saw it right away and helped me get through that stage,” Ashwin remarked, complimenting Jadeja on her timely guidance.

“Over the past few years, Jaddu has emerged as one of the team’s best batters. He was reliable, and I found his suggestion that we didn’t need to turn twos into threes beneficial.”

With the help of their 195-run partnership for the seventh wicket, India improved from a precarious 144/6 at stumps on the first day to a dominant 339/6.

According to Ashwin, with an eye towards tomorrow, “it’s a typical, old-fashioned Chennai pitch where overspin will fetch a bit of bounce.”

The trickery of the wicket will become apparent much later in the game. Enough is there for the quicks; if we deliver the seam nice and hard, it will bounce and carry well.”

“The new ball will work a little, but we’ll have to start over tomorrow. It should quicken as it dries out because it’s still damp below,” he continued.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Cricket players frequently go through periods where they must change or develop to remain relevant. Athletes stay at the top of their game because of this never-ending quest for personal development. Ravichandran Ashwin, who is primarily renowned for his exceptional bowling, has advanced significantly as a batsman in recent years. Noticing that his batting performances have improved, Ashwin thanks an unexpected source: the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).

Ravichandran Ashwin Developing Batting Talent

Bowling has always been Ravichandran Ashwin’s forte in cricket, particularly in Test matches. He is one of the world’s most feared spinners because of his spin changes and astute utilization of the circumstances. Many people might need to be aware of Ashwin’s ongoing efforts to improve as an all-around cricket player, mainly while using the bat.

Ashwin’s Underappreciated Batting Talent

For the majority of his career, Ashwin was mostly thought of as a bowler who could bat a little bit when necessary. However, things have changed. Even tail-enters are expected to contribute with the bat in modern cricket. Ashwin has adjusted to this shift and become a reliable batter in the bottom middle order. His hitting has given India’s squad much-needed depth, enabling the team to rally in trying circumstances.

Ashwin’s TNPL Journey

Though it may not be as well-known as its more famous cousin, the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) has provided local players a vital platform. Joining this regional T20 event gave Ashwin a new dimension to his batting.

Ashwin’s Batting Style: How the TNPL Shaped It

By participating in the TNPL, Ashwin was able to test out different batting strategies in a more laid-back setting compared to playing for India. He acknowledges that the competition allowed him to experiment with different strokes and strategies without the intense pressure of playing for his country. Thanks to the competition, he was able to gain a better understanding of his own hitting limitations and skills.

Ashwin’s International Career and TNPL’s Impact

The changes Ashwin underwent in the TNPL were not a passing fad. His performances for India also started to reflect it. With his increased batting confidence, he scored significant runs in international matches, particularly in Test cricket, where players had more opportunity to construct an innings due to the lengthier format.

Notable Additions to the Lower Order for Team India

Following his TNPL experience, Ashwin became a more dependable lower-order batsman. In addition to being a bowler, Ashwin’s job expanded to include forming alliances with skilled batters and aiding India in recovering from setbacks. Thanks to his enhanced batting technique and mindset, he was able to compete with elite international bowlers.

The TNPL’s Function in Developing Cricket Players

In addition to helping Ravichandran Ashwin, the TNPL is still a haven for up-and-coming talent. Even after reaching the peak of their careers, players like Ashwin can still get better thanks to the event that fills the gap between local and elite levels of international cricket.

Ashwin’s Prospects in the Batter

Ashwin’s role as an all-rounder will become even more critical. Ashwin, who can impact games with the ball and the bat, will undoubtedly be crucial to India’s success in upcoming Test matches and, if necessary, in shorter formats.

Extending Yourself as a Whole Player

Ravichandran Ashwin has demonstrated that cricket players can change and adapt at any career stage by consistently bettering themselves. In addition to improving his batting, his time in the TNPL has allowed him to reach new heights as a cricketer.
